Ministry of Information Position in Relation to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, the Ministry of Information is working to align its institutional objectives with these global goals, reflecting the role of media as an active partner in highlighting national identity, raising awareness, and supporting the Kingdom’s development journey at both the national and international levels.

The Ministry of Information strengthens national belonging and Bahrain’s authentic identity by promoting national values, in line with Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, through ensuring access to information and safeguarding fundamental freedoms.

The Ministry highlights the Kingdom’s efforts through media coverage of national initiatives, in line with Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and Goal 13: Climate Action, by ensuring access to information and fostering awareness of sustainable practices.

The Ministry promotes innovation in content creation through modern digital tools and technologies, in line with Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, supporting technological and digital transformation.

The Ministry develops national talents and highlights the role of youth, women, and persons with disabilities, in line with Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 5: Gender Equality, by ensuring equal opportunities and full participation.

The Ministry works to position the media as an economic contributor that generates added value, in line with Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by supporting national economic diversification.

The Ministry of Information supports the Sustainable Development Goals directly through its strategic objectives, and indirectly by working with national partners to showcase Bahrain’s achievements locally and internationally.
