The Ministry’s mandates include the following:
- Assuming responsibilities related to media affairs as stipulated in the applicable laws, Royal Decrees, regulations, and decisions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the mandates transferred pursuant to Royal Decree No. (82) of 2016.
- Proposing public media policies and developing strategic frameworks to advance the media and communications sector and enhance media performance, in line with professional and technological developments.
- Supporting and empowering national media to highlight Bahrain’s national identity, convey the Kingdom’s cultural and civilisational image, and showcase national achievements across various sectors.
- Developing media services and adopting digital solutions and modern technologies in media and content, contributing to the modernisation of the media working environment.
- Strengthening media cooperation and partnerships with relevant institutions and entities at the local and international levels, and promoting the exchange of expertise in support of shared objectives.
- Providing media accreditation services and related facilitation for official activities and coverage, in accordance with approved procedures.
- Following up on the implementation of media-related legislation and regulations within the Ministry’s remit, without prejudice to the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.
